Alhaurin de la Torre

Alhaurín de la Torre is a particularly beautiful town east of the Sierra de Mijas and is located 18 km from the vibrant city of Malaga. Alhaurín de la Torre has remained very Spanish. It is traditional but at the same time quite modern and very well maintained. In the center you will find many authentic streets, beautiful parks and other extensive green spaces. Alhaurín de la Torre has about 40,000 inhabitants and lies at an altitude of 99 meters.
Within fifteen minutes you are at the airport and also the beach is only a 15 minutes drive away.
As is customary in many smaller Spanish villages, siesta time is still common here. The stores close between 2 and 5 o’clock. After this, shops open again until 9.30 pm. Supermarkets however, remain open during the siesta hours.

Alhaurín de la Torre has more than 60 restaurants and tapas bars and in recent years more international restaurants have been added. The town does not have many special highlights. There are no major retail chains in town. It is mainly a very pleasant and laid back town, but only a short drive away from the bustle of Málaga.

Alhaurín de la Torre is rich in history and dates back to as early as Phoenician times and has also played an important role in the eras of the Romans, Greeks, Visigoths and Arabs.

Tip: The nearest beach from Lauro Golf is Alamos Beach, precisely at the border of Málaga and Torremolinos.
A very lively area with nice beaches, promenades and many restaurants, bars and clubs. Our favorites are Nuevo & Sur Beach House and La Palapa Beach Jazba Torremolinos.
